Hundred Waters – The Moon Rang Like A Bell

5/5

Florida’s Hundred Waters is leading the way through contemporary indie folk, incorporating electronica in various forms with their latest release The Moon Rang Like A Bell.

The album is beautiful, intense and near perfect, with Nicole Miglis’ voice swiftly flows over the sturdy, yet unpredictable instrumentals.

Opening with an echoing individual performance by Miglis, the remainder of the album is a chain songs that could easily be mistaken for one long, and everchanging track – and I mean that in the best way possible.

“Out Alee” is a prime example of the drama and intensity Hundred Waters seamlessly creates, while “[Animal]” highlights their push into electronica, but not crossing any unnecssary lines into other electronic genres.

The album is one that can be listened to countless times, and will produce equal amounts of new surprises.

Stereogum is streaming a few of their tracks, click here to listen.
