Gregory Pepper & His Problems – Welcome to the Dullhouse

Guelph-based indie pop rock artist Gregory Pepper doesn’t exactly have a set style; his discography spans across horn-blaring albums, hip-hop projects, and narrative-founded pieces. His latest single “Welcome to the Dullhouse” is off his upcoming album Chorus!Chorus!Chorus! out August 21st. Making a point to highlight the increasingly obvious focus on pop hooks and their often two-dimensional integrity, his short and sweet songwriting can easily fall in that category, but with a purposeful intention that gives a needed third dimension.

The quick 90-second track grabs the listeners attention with catchy pop hooks combined with regressive, angsty lyrics, and pop-punk instrumentation. Featuring fiery hot instrumentation (literally), bong rips from a man with two faces, and random activites, the music video for “Welcome to the Dullhouse” goes hand in hand with the to-the-point track, illustrating his free-flowing attitude towards song writing.
