ev ree whun – Sapporo

What do a ballet dancer, a physicist, and a Jazz musician have in common?

ev ree whun.

Electronic trio ev ree whun (pronounced everyone) is composed of Alex Grant (vocals, keyboards) who studied classical ballet, Adrian Gagnon (drummer, producer) who studied physics, and Lawson Smith (bass, keyboards) focused his musical training in Jazz.

And while their backgrounds may seem to lack connection, their musical assimilation creates a mind-bending concoction of futuristic hip-hop beats and dreamy, texturized music. Their self-titled EP debut was a well-received initiation into the dream-pop scene, and the Toronto boys are excited to release the follow up Found You EP October 9th.

Ahead of the release, ev ree whun have shared the lead single “Sapporo”. Laced with dense, Jazz-infused rhythms, and sporadic sonic accessories, the new track is like a dark and dreary hip-hop beat, but with a cool, bold swagger.
