Hamilton-based psychedelic-grunge rock group Pet Sun are on the tail-end of their fall tour, and are coming home for the December 5th release of their upcoming 7″ Shade Driver EP.

The four-piece shared a taste of their lo-fi sound with their lead single “Never Quit” earlier this year, and now the band of friends have released an equally wild and catchy sound on “Dark Planet”.

With a slow, burning pace, the new single works into heavy styles of grunge, but not without losing Pet Sun’s playful, head banging desires. Touching just past the six minute mark, the band suggests the ideal way to enjoy the track:

“‘Dark Planet’ is best enjoyed late at night in a dark room lit by a few candles with a fresh pizza delivered by Satan himself…We like to think that if the Phantom of the Opera went solo he’d put this on his record”.
