It has been almost four years since Halifax-born/Montreal-based alternative rock group Wintersleep released new music. Hello Hum was the last collection back in 2012, and now the follow up record has been announced. Set to be released March 4th, The Great Detachment will be Wintersleep’s sixth full-length, and their first with Dine Alone Records.

Breaking the silence is lead single “Amerika”, the first look into the new record. Having worked on the record for more than two years, the band refocused their sound to their earlier days; recording live-off-the-floor for the majority of the album, and bottling their organic, invigorating style.

Punchy hooks and heavy distortion guide “Amerika” into a resonating chorus that is reminiscent of their previous songs “Black Camera” and “Oblivion”, but with the polished and matured power of Hello Hum.
