After parting ways with their guitarist at the end of their 2014 UK tour, Calgary art-rock outfit Boreal Sons aimed to recalibrate as a trio. Their sophomore record You & Everyone, which hits shelves September 30th, shows their new arrangement by not having a single guitar on the new record. With that in mind, Boreal Sons have shared the first look into their new record with the dark, lush synth-rock track “What Becomes”.

You & Everyone has the Calgary trio reaching into deeper and darker waters, as lead singer/synth-player Evan Acheson attended six funerals in the span of a year. With loss and emotion at his fingertips, “What Becomes” repurposes those heavy themes into a captivating lead single that easily draws in the listener and brings them along for the ride.
