Rumours were running around the internet lately that hip-hop artist Childish Gambino (or actor Donald Glover to others) was set to release a new album in the next coming months.
Well, the rumours held to be true, and Glover is dropping his latest album Awaken, My Love! on December 2nd. From the upcoming release, the eccentric artist has shared the first taste with “Me and Your Mama” – emphasis on eccentric.
His 2013 record Because the Internet had moments of captivating oddities, and his new single is not afraid to take that even further. Blending old-school soul, funk, rock, and R&B into time-travelling halves, “Me and Your Mama” is a worthwhile trip.
