Skinny Lister – CityFolk Festival: Thursday September 15, 2016

Skinny Fuckin’ Lister. Pardon my English, the rowdy, fear-not attitude of the London sextet seems to have worn off on me. But that is definitely not a bad thing – what a show. Bringing their unparalleled energy and party-starting tunes to CityFolk Festival, Skinny Lister held a kitchen party in the Aberdeen Pavilion and everyone was invited. Their blend of folk, punk, and good ol’ drinking music makes for a wild night and some great tunes to stomp your feet to. The rambunctious personalities of each member came out to play…

RBC Bluesfest – July 17, 2016

Time flies when you’re having fun, and the nine days of RBC Bluesfest flew by. Sunday evening was one of the smaller crowds all festival, but after a fully loaded two week event like Bluesfest, not everyone has the stamina to last all nine days. Regardless, the vibe of the final day was relaxed, care-free, and just the right temperature. Although the line-up on Sunday was slightly lacklustre, there were still a handful of gems to help send off another edition of RBC Bluesfest with a strong finish. Ottawa photographer…

RBC Bluesfest – July 16, 2016

Although Saturday was slow to start, it wasn’t long before the entire festival was packed full with fans young and old (mostly young) for the day’s top headliners. Massive crowds made it nearly impossible to maneuver with ease around Lebreton Flats, but the weaving in and out of clusters was all worth it once you reached the stage. Day 8 was exciting nonetheless, and most importantly: it didn’t rain! Photographer Kamara Morozuk braved the crowds and captured all the excitement from Saturday night. Check out the concert galleries below featuring…

RBC Bluesfest – July 10, 2016

The sun finally decided to make an appearance at Bluesfest on Sunday, making for a beautiful afternoon and evening before heading into the two-day break from the festival. From country pop star Jordan McIntosh, to a surprise visit during Belly’s performance, there was no shortage of action Sunday, and Ottawa photographer Kamara Morozuk was there to capture it. As you…

RBC Bluesfest – July 9, 2016

There is no greater compliment to an artist than to have fans stand in the rain for hours, patiently awaiting their presence (close seconds of course are cringe-worthy tattoos and bedroom shrines). From the opening of the gates to the final note of The Lumineers, it was a rainy day (again) at RBC Bluesfest; nevertheless, thousands of fans spent their evening like ducks, soaked by the constant sprinkle of rain and somehow unfazed by the drenching weather above, excitedly awaiting the night’s headliners. Fortunately, the show must go on, and the performers…

RBC Bluesfest July 7, 2016

“Drink lots of water” was the motto for the first night of RBC Bluesfest. The heat and the sun were an unstoppable duo and if you weren’t sweating – you’re lying. It was a hot one. But Thursday evening was too much fun to care, with some even hotter acts heating up the festival. Sunshine, dancing, and some of the biggest names in music made for one hell of a night. Ottawa photographer Kamara Morozuk kicked off her photo coverage of the festival Thursday evening, and you can browse through her photos…
