The Chainsmokers – Closer ft. Halsey

DJ duo The Chainsmokers are back with their highly-anticapted new single “Closer” featuring electro-songstress Halsey. After teasing the track months in advance, fans have been patiently awaiting the full summer hit. Although the pair originally came to fame through handfuls of indie electronic remixes, The Chainsmokers are continuing to make waves in the pop charts with their original and collaborative work, “Closer” included. The song’s irresistible hook combined with the stunning vocals of singer-songwriter Halsey, “Closer” is the perfect track as the summer months begin to head towards the end. With…

Atmosphere – No Biggie

Minneapolis hip-hop duo Atmosphere are releasing their seventh studio album Fishing Blues August 12th, and after hinting at the new record with the lead single “Ringo” earlier this summer, the combination of Ant and Slug are keeping anticipation high with their latest single “No Biggie”. Revolving around the line “There’s no life after death / I’m not ready to die”, the new single is a conscious, retrospective track, reminiscent of early-day Atmosphere with MC Slug rhyming with his somewhat-aggressive side making an appearance. Arkells – Drake’s Dad (Official Music Video)

With their highly anticipated fourth album Morning Report hitting shelves next week, Hamilton indie rock favourites The Arkells have shared the latest track from the release. “Drake’s Dad” is not only an example of how the band have shifted their musical direction ever so slightly, but also an entertaining story from the fun-loving Canadian boys – a true story at that. Frontman Max Kerman explains: “Last summer I was on a road trip with my best friends through the American south, and in the magic of the night, we happened to meet Drake’s dad…

Earth Heart – Demons

From the small town of Allston, Masschesuchets comes the big, bashing sound of garage rock trio Earth Heart. Although no strangers to the local live music scene, Earth Heart recently headed to the studio to record their debut full-length record Homesick, which is out August 5th. Formed back in 2013 after vocalist/guitarist Katie Coriander met drummer Matt Axten at a cafe in Cambridge, MA, in search of a drummer to accompany her during her solo performance the next evening. Since then, the pair along with bassist Natan Keyes have self-released five EPs and countless shows. Adding Homesick to…

The Medicine Hat – St. Cecilia (Official Music Video)

Hamilton experimental pop quartet The Medicine Hat are set to release their debut album later this year, and after sharing their dynamic lead single “New Survival” last month, it is expected to be a memorable first record. Following up the anticipation is the newly released “St. Cecilia”, once again lead by the mesmerizing vocals of front woman Nabi Sue Bersche. Sharing similar vocal qualities to Emily Haines (Metric), Ritzy Bryan (The Joy Formidable), and Lauren Mayberry (Chvrches), Bersche’s delicate voice echoes against the song’s lush textures and charming synth-pop melodies. Along with the new single, “St. Cecilia”…

The Darcys – Miracle (Official Music Video)

Alternative pop duo The Darcys have been fairly quiet since their 2013 release Warrings, and being off the tour circuit for the past two years. Now, the Toronto pair of Jason Couse and Wes Marskell are hitting the road for a string of tour dates and have shared their latest single “Miracle”. Taking a trip to the early days of pop, The Darcys turn to the sounds and vibes of the ’80s, playfully reworking the synth-pop and dance pop made for solo dance parties in your childhood bedroom. Giving the vintage sound a contemporary…

Die Antwoord – Banana Brain

South African rap-rave duo Die Antwoord released their latest Suck On This EP back in May as a precursor to their newly announced album MOUNT NINJI AND DA NICE TIME KID, out September 16th. From the unpredictable pair comes “Banana Brain”, a heavy, Euro-techno based hit that puts the “bang” in banger. Produced by frequent collaborator GOD, the new single is a hard-hitting example of Die Antwoord at their best. The soft, childish vocals of Yo-Landi plays against the aggressive, underground house beat, while Ninja raps his way through the verses. Turn up the volume…

Glass Animals – Youth (Official Music Video)

U.K. indie rock group Glass Animals popped onto the music world map with their 2014 debut ZABA, and were welcomed to stick around with their refreshing style of hypnotic, fizzy, electronic rock music. Following up their recent success, the Oxford four-piece have announced their sophomore album How To Be A Human Being will hit shelves August 26th. They teased fans with the lead single “Life Itself” back in May, and now have given a second look into the upcoming record with the brand new music video and single “Youth”.  Continuing the story from the “Life…
