Mad Caddies – Dirty Rice
4/5
Ska music is one of those genres that can appeal to any music lover, with its reggae roots and punk influences (don’t forget the irresistible horn section).
Bands like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Planet Smashers and Reel Big Fish have been keeping the ska scene alive and prosperous for decades. The Mad Caddies have been together since 1995, and have been doing their part as well with their latest release Dirty Rice.
With influences from all forms of ska origins – reggage, polka, jazz and punk – “Brand New Scar” opens up the record with a solid start, and they finish strong with “Drinking the Night Away”. Bouncing in all sorts of directions, each song seems to hit the same musical bullseye.
