Clean Bandit – New Eyes
4.5/5
You would think composers such as Mozart and Dvoràk would be rolling around in their graves with the fusion of classical and electronic music, but with Clean Bandit‘s debut album New Eyes, they may end up dancing to the beat. Expertly combining classical music with the contemporary sounds of electronicia, Clean Bandit are blowing up the charts with their hit “Rather Be”, and soon to be with their first full length.
Right off the bat, they flaunt their talent with the simple and catchy “Mozart’s House”, and continue to flex their musical muscles with “Dust Clears” and “A+E”, which feature smooth vocals from Noonie Bao, and Kandaka Moore & Nikki Cislyn.
Nikki Cislyn returns on the bop-to-the-beat track “Cologne”, which is sure to take off this summer.
The band said it best: “both genres take people on a journey, with highs and lows” (The Guardian.com). From start to finish, the album fluctuates like a waveform, with peaks and drops, and everything in between – in perfect balance.
