Kid North – Rip Tide (Official Music Video)
Synth-pop trio Kid North admit they “like to dance, sing, and cry. All at the same time”; their desire to fuse together happiness and sadness is the driving inspiration behind the band’s melancholy dance pop music.
Although based out of Paris, France, Kid North bookmarks the U.K. indie dance rock scene of the past decade as a major influence on their sound, with elements of Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, and Bombay Bicycle Club passing through on their debut 2013 album Atlas.
Continuing to evolve their modern pop sound, the quintet-turned-trio have announced their sophomore release New Waters, set to be released January 2016. Leading the way is the new single and music video “Rip Tide”. Their original dance rock sound has since been sculpted into a dense, synth-driven pop style with hints of their former inspirations still lingering, although welcoming new shapes of M83, and Passion Pit.
