Not Of – The Mark (Official Music Video)
Toronto noise-rock duo Not Of do whatever they can to produce as much noise as possible from their garage-rock combination of guitar and drums. Although veterans of the Toronto music scene, John Ex and Jason Seance (both of which are pseudonyms) prefer to limit their connection to their previous work, and instead hope to have a fresh start with their latest project.
Following in suit of fellow Toronto noise rock bands such as Metz or Death From Above 1979, Not Of fill the space with loud, crushing, fuzz-filled riffs and equally bashing percussion to maximize their minimalist setup. Following their debut release Pique, the pair of long-time friends have released the new music video for the single “The Mark”.
“We put this video together with the help of Divorce, Karl DiPelino & David Dunham. It captures the claustrophobia of us compacting ourselves into our cramped rehearsal space — as well as the financial claustrophobia of having no budget. All of which is sorta loosely what “The Mark” is about, but let’s not get carried away here. It makes visual racket, and that’s what really matters”.
