Darlingside – The God of Loss (Official Music Video)
Massachusetts-based folk quartet Darlingside released their latest album Birds Say on September 18th (you can hear a full stream via Pop Matters), and the four musicians have upped the ante with the new music video for the single “The God of Loss” (via NPR Premieres).
Incorporating full-band vocals and generous harmonies, “The God of Loss” breathes a gust of fresh air, highlighting the beautifully organic potential of the violin, piano, and guitar, as they provide a sturdy foundation for a remarkably dramatic track. Parallel in emotion and grace, the new music video combines animation and stop motion from the talented artist Andrew Benincasa. Using paper, shadows, and lights, Benincasa creates a story that flows with emotion and creativity.
