Weaves – Tick (Official Music Video)
Toronto’s wildly fun indie rock group Weaves have been on everyone’s music radars after the release of their debut single “Tick”. Since then, they’ve shared a handful of tunes (including One More, Candy, and Coo Coo) and now the four-piece have released their stellar self-titled debut LP today.
Alongside the new release, Weaves have come full circle and have shared the new music video for their first single “Tick”. Starring comedian Chris Locke, the music video highlights a man who evidently goes through a midlife crisis – brought on by Weaves of courses. Locke’s character tries to find ways of self-improvement, illustrating the inevitable effects of passing time. Weaves guitarist Morgan Waters explains:
“The video is about the incessant ticking of the clock, nagging at you to realize your dreams, and the gentle reminder that sometimes dreams should remain fantasy. Music makes you feel young. But what happens when you’re suddenly the old guy at a party trying to get the roach going? Our friend, and brilliant comedian Chris Locke, plays a man who stares into the void, hears our song and experiences a midlife crisis.”
Get lost in the void as well and enjoy the music video below. Head to the band’s website for more information on Weaves, and catch them on tour this summer (dates below).
