Slow Leaves – Miss You (Music Video)
Winnipeg singer-songwriter Grant Davidson is releasing his sixth studio album Shelf Life on April 3rd with his band Slow Leaves. The group have shared the LP’s debut single “Miss You” and its accompanying music video.
The veteran singer-songwriter captures the warmth of the Canadian prairies with a folk-forward sound similar to the likes of fellow Canadian musicians Jim Bryson and Joel Plaskett. “Miss You” is rich with melancholy, balanced by the song’s bright chords and easy-listening melody.
The song explores “the slippery quality of time, which is a theme that runs through just about every song I write,” says Davidson. “In a sense, I’m preoccupied with the past, perhaps at the detriment of the present. I’m not great at looking ahead. Naturally, I miss certain things and certain people. I guess that’s life”.
Head to the band’s website for more music and to pre-order a copy of Shelf Life. As well, they’ll be on a small cross-Canada tour this spring (dates below).
