Scott Goodwin – Dirty (Music Video)
Indie rock musician Scott Goodwin took on the extensive task of self-producing and recording his upcoming debut album Valentine. The Toronto-based artist has developed a name for himself as a mainstay blues rock artist, but on his album, Goodwin wanted to explore and experiment with his sound and give himself full control.
From the release is the new single “Dirty”, a feel-good funk tune that is stripped down to the bare necessities: a groovy guitar riff, a driving bassline, snappy percussion, and Goodwin’s rough and tumble vocals to add some edge. Letting his blues roots shine, his vocal style is unique to say the least, helping the tune to pop with contrast, and allowing him to move out of his comfort zone.
And as Goodwin explains, “Dirty” is “inspired by a flirty night out, this song is about getting screwed over but having fun in the process. It’s a fun and goofy take on falling in and out of love – a lighthearted view of getting dumped”.
Adding to the song’s playful undertones and enthusiasm, the music video is a fun-spirited one-take explosion of characters, chaos, and colour, directed by Stephen Trivieri.
