MILQ Romanticize An Old Flame With “Summer Again”
After the success of their debut hit “Stay”, Edmonton-based indie pop trio MILQ are gearing up to release their debut EP tired. on June 26th and have shared the new single “Summer Again”.
With the warm weather settling in, romance both new and old find their way to the surface, sometimes to mixed results. “Summer Again” explores the habit of romanticizing and basking in old memories of past love, especially if a new flame is not what you had hoped for, falling into the mindset “the one” has already slipped away.
Rich in ’80s synth-pop, “Summer Again” is a retro-love song that creates a glistening nostalgia, similar to the sappy-synth style of Hellogoodbye in the early 2000s. The indie pop tune is a strong contender as the anthem of carefree summer nights.
