The Ones You Forgot Speak To Self-growth With “Something For Me”
New Jersey pop-rock band The Ones You Forgot are back with their new single, “Something For Me.” Drawing inspiration from powerhouse acts such as State Champs, We Are The In Crowd, and All Time Low, their sound is sure to remind you of the emo phase you never did outgrow. After their appearance on the main stage at the 25th Anniversary of the Vans Warped Tour in summer of 2019, the five-piece band is ready to prove themselves with new music in 2020.
The single paints a vivid picture of self-love, symbolizing new beginnings and personal growth. Of the song, the band says it “…embraces the freedom of escaping an unhealthy relationship, and the struggle that unfortunately comes along with it. It’s all about realizing the love you deserve and learning that it’s not fair to keep waiting for respect…” Going further, they explore the frustration and conflicting emotions of craving the person who’s treated you unfairly, all while recognizing that “they are killing you from the inside out.”
“Something For Me” is the band’s first release since the 2018 EP, Too Afraid To See, and it certainly won’t be the last you’re hearing from them.
