Fast Romantics Race To “Top of the Mountain” In New Slow-Mo Music Video
Toronto alternative rock six-piece Fast Romantics released their new album Pick It Up just a few weeks ago, and now have unveiled the new music video for its fifth single “Top of the Mountain”.
About the new video, frontman Matthew Angus shares, “So much of [Pick It Up} is about my experiences trying to balance these two powerful forces inside of me that seem to be in opposition: ambition and self-doubt. How do these two creatures survive inside of me at once?”
Angus continues, “This one’s about that unstoppable engine in all of us that pushes us forward, to try to make things, to progress, to be better, only to turn around and die, and eventually be forgotten. There aren’t many answers in here, and like so many of the songs on this album, this is more of a feeling than a thought. But some part of the way this turned out makes me feel like all of this climbing is worth something. But it’s still a mystery to me as to what’s at the top.”
While the mysterious mountain of life is left unanswered, you can watch the six members of the band run to their destination in the slow-motion race. Shot around Toronto, Fast Romantics turn the slow-burning single into a dramatic, reflective track, complete with flowing hair and stunts.
