Snowk & J. Lamotta Suzume Share Choreographed Music Video For Hit Single “Under the Moon”
After making its way into the most recent “From the Inbox” segment, “Under the Moon” from Japanese producer duo Snowk and Tel Aviv-via-Berlin R&B singer J. Lamotta Suzume has a new music video to match.
Speaking of the single, J.Lamotta Suzume explains, “Last summer, I found myself working mainly on projects with people from Japan, and the collaboration with Snowk was one of them. When I first heard his beat, my feet started tapping on the floor. I started singing some ideas over it, and everything came together. The lyrics came relatively quickly, the melodies were flowing out, and I was dancing. It’s easy to collaborate with such freedom. Snowk and I never met in person, but we managed to get things done from far away and with mutual trust.”
And the urge to dance was reignited for the new music video. Shot in an car scrapyard, Lamotta and two friends give the upbeat ’90s dance pop tune a fun and energetic choreographed music video.
About the video, Suzume continues, “When Snowk asked me what I thought about making a music video, the first thing that came to my head was dancing. I was fortunate to have the chance to work with the Shanghai-based choreographer Karin Uziyahoo, who happened to be in Tel-Aviv during COVID time. Then, a few weeks later, while visiting my second home Berlin, we got the artwork together with the South-African photographer Gabriella Achadinha. This project had many artists from different places involved, and it’s exciting to keep this exchange going, especially at such times.”
