Kiwi Jr. Tour Around Toronto In New Video For “Waiting In Line”
Toronto indie rock group Kiwi Jr. are gearing up to release their upcoming album Cooler Returns on January 22nd, their first since signing to Sub Pop. The sophomore release explores the last year or so from under a lens of lo-fi effects and simple, yet effective melodies. From the project comes “Waiting In Line”, a carefree, summery tune brought out by their new music video.
Directed by filmmaker and photographer Laura-Lynn Petrick, the video is the gang simply exploring their city of Toronto during the quietness brought on by the lockdown. Kiwi Jr. vocalist Jeremy Gaudet shares, “We like the candid and casual approach of director Laura-Lynn’s previous videos, including Weyes Blood, Jessica Pratt, Michael Rault, Twist, and she was excited by our idea to wander around downtown Toronto while it was something of a ghost-town.“
As a time capsule of sorts, the music video for “Waiting In Line” will (hopefully) be hard to replicate in the coming year. You can watch the video below, and listen to their previous single “Undecided Voters” as well.
