Montreal Indie Pop Artist Ormiston Prepares New LP With Latest Single “Step From The Limelight”

Montreal indie artist and producer Nicola Ormiston is gearing up to release his debut album Hammer Down later this year via Lisbon Lux Records. Adding to his growing list of singles is the psychedelic-pop hit “Step From the Limelight”, showing off his ability to create a warm and laid-back ambience while being alluring with his sound.

Following his previously released single “Rebel“, Ormiston uses synthesizers and colourful guitar tones to give his song shape on “Step From The Limelight”. Written about the loss of identity, the track ironically sounds very similar to Tame Impala’s more contemporary work. Fortunately, Ormiston creates his own message with the song, saying: “The phrase ‘I could never step from the limelight’ reminds us that we are continually pushed to play a role in an act that is not our own, forcing us to forget who we really are and to put on the mask that will please what others think of us.”

Watch the colourful lyric video below and stay tuned for Hammer Down, which will be full of “the energy of a never-ending summer”.
