Brisbane Rap Duo Safety Club Share Eye-Catching Music Video For “JUICE”
Approaching their music with a sense of humour and a “down-to-Earth” attitude, emerging rap duo Safety Club have shared their attention-grabbing new single “JUICE”.
A self-described “ode to feeling yourself”, the new single is an upbeat and bouncing track that oozes positivity and charisma, similar to artists like Lil Dicky and Aminé. With a pop-trap beat produced by Shan, vocalist Ronnie Sinclair unleashes a steady flow of “piss-taking” lyrics with a laissez-faire confidence. In Safety Club terms, the new single is the “the perfect soundtrack for driving a Toyota Prius at barely legal speeds to your divorce court hearing”. Their mix of sarcasm, cynicism, and humbleness add to their unsuspected charm.
Loosely inspired by the opening scene of Guy Ritchie’s cult classic film Snatch, the video, directed by Shan, features Ronnie dancing through a convenience store late at night through two screens. The duo share that the video was “shot in approximately one hour and fifteen minutes after a series of catastrophic gear failures, finishing with a minute to spare, no time for playback and no confirmation that they actually got the shots until the next day. Once again, the classic SAFETY CLUB adage has been confirmed: perfect everything in life by practicing in your kitchen for three days in a row and nothing can stop you”.
