Norway’s Delara Shares “Flashy” From Inside An Ice Castle In New Video
Growing up in the small Norwegian town of Nes, alt-R&B artist Delara began teaching herself piano and violin, a skill she would eventually develop into songwriting. Having released a number of singles and EPs since 2016, the Norwegian songwriter has allowed her music to evolve into what would become her latest EP TIMEPIECE.
Delara explained, “Over the last year I have moved in a new direction musically which I have felt has been a natural part of my journey. Being in constant development as an artist by exploring outside my comfort zone has been an important driving force for me when writing new music. Going from the vulnerable side in the previous chapter, I now show a tougher side of myself where I feel unbreakable and confident. With” TIMEPIECE “EP, I hope listeners can be left with the same feeling.”
Off the new release is the silky new single “Flashy”. Delara’s crisp vocals float overtop a glossy R&B melody, merging her confidence as a performer with the vulnerability of being human. She adds, “Flashy is about trying to escape from your own feelings and no matter how hard you try it will never work, so you just have to be in it, embrace it and see the beauty of it, both the good and bad feelings“.
Shot inside an ice castle in Norway, the music video is late-night visual that combines the trend-setting hype of the night with the aesthetically sharp locations of Norway (flame thrower and all). Watch below:
