Toronto R&B Artist Charlotte Day Wilson Shares Stunning New Music Video For “If I Could”
Toronto’s Charlotte Day Wilson has announced her highly anticipated debut album Alpha will be out July 9th via Stone Woman Music. The one-woman band and powerhouse first came into the spotlight in 2016 and her handful of singles, features, and EPs have captured people’s attention over the years, and the upcoming full-length aims to be a stellar bookmark in her career.
Onto her fourth single since 2018’s Stone Woman EP, “If I Could” features Wilson once again putting her haunting vocals at the forefront, as she breaches the topic of being a supportive crutch for someone. Providing more about the song, she shares,“‘If I Could’ was written by my good friend and incredible songwriter Merna Bishouty, and produced by myself and Jack Rochon. I felt a deep and immediate connection to Merna’s perspective on the desire to protect and save someone from their demons, and I was honored to collaborate with her on the song. Co-director Kevan Funk and I are also super grateful for my dear friend Mustafa and the bull riders from Texas who helped us to tell our story.”
For the music video, Charlotte co-directed alongside award-winner Kevan Funk, heading to the rodeo for a slow-burning and striking visual showcasing female rodeos, alluding to the themes of identity and changing faces that come through on Alpha.
