Vancouver Indie Folk Artist Jon Bryant Returns With Summertime Track “Candied Tangerines”
While fans wait for the announcement of his upcoming album, Vancouver-based indie alt-folk artist Jon Bryant has shared a delectable new single “Candied Tangerines” to ease the masses. Inspired by a recent trip to Los Angeles’ historic Sportsmen’s Lodge for one of the weekly poolside Sunday Fundays, the new track pulls from the carefree energy of R&B and the summer sunshine.“It was as though all of old Hollywood was there,” he says. “Drank margs with some silver foxes til my face was pink. I had a lovely time making new friends and lazily going about the day with my newfound 50+ crew.”His charming vocal style and bouncing instrumentation keep things light and groovy, before shifting into a psych-pop dance number. Adding to the song’s playfulness and welcoming spirit, the accompanying music video is an orange-tinged video shoot featuring Jon Bryant “look-a-likes” and a odd, mandatory braid train.
