Halifax Noise Rock Outfit Spirit of the Wildfire Unveil Chaotic New Single “Ski Mask”

Self-described “funk punk” group Spirit Of the Wildfire have shared their new single “Ski Mask” from their to-be-named upcoming full-length. Known for their chaotic clustering of genres from ska, hip-hop, noise, and punk, the five-piece come to a commanding peak on their new single. Written about pointless violence and the unsettling sense of danger, the instrumentation matches its inspiration wonderfully. Searing guitars, unapologetic percussion, and a rollercoaster of pace courtesy of a repeating riff that sounds like it was freed from a ’90s video game come together for an exciting genre-bending release.
