Singer-Songwriter Jack In Water Shares Ode To Friendship With “Unconditional Love” From Debut Album
William Clapson, known on stage as Jack In Water, released his debut album You Don’t Feel Like Home recently. A deeply personal collection of work, Clapson looks back at childhood memories and relationships, uncovering uncomfortable emotions and past traumas to appreciate the new person he is today. “When you’re no longer tangled up in its ups and downs but you’re still able to see that you’re inevitably a result of everything that’s happened to you so far,” William explained. “Being able to reflect on my upbringing has been quite therapeutic, and also difficult at times.” Amongst the darker theme of the album, he finds moments of celebration, including his new single “Unconditional Love”, written as an ode to his best friend Oli.
Soundtracked by his cool, drawn croon, William shares his unconditional appreciation and love for his long time friend, building a lush, folk-centered love song based on pure agape. It’s steady, soothing delivery eventually opens up for a grandiose final with swelling instrumentation and strong harmonies.
