Chart-Topping Songwriter Maty Noyes Blazes Her Own Way On Debut Album; Shares Latest Single “Diggin’ Da Blunt”
Los Angeles-based songwriter and performer Maty Noyes made her way onto the charts at 17 with her duet on The Weeknd’s “Angel”, eventually following suit on Kygo’s “Stay” and providing writing credits on Celine Dion’s album Courage. While she has found success behind the scenes, Noyes first debuted her solo material in 2016 on a her Noyes Complaint EP, and is back with her debut full-length album The Feeling’s Mutual.
From the release is her latest single “Diggin’ Da Blunt”, a crunchy, power-pop tune that is filled with positivity and upbeat spirits. “Like a lot of people in our country right now, I am feeling downtrodden and bossed around, told what to do,” she says. “I want to make songs that show love can triumph over hate.”
“I don’t believe in limits,” she continues. “Any day I go into the studio, I could come out with something disco or pop or soul. I am all about pushing boundaries and avoiding boxes. For me, I want contradictions to define me. Because contradictions challenge me to be undefinable, to be more tomorrow than I am today.”
In line with superstars Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Julia Michaels, Noyes has an enchanting vocal quality that is brought out with boosted pop melodies and bass-hungry production.
