London Duo Girlhood Share New Single “4AM”
After a serendipitous meeting back in 2017, London-based duo Girlhood began crafting music that would eventually become their debut album. Vocalist Tessa and producer Christian Pinchbeck crossed paths on a summer’s evening in East London. Tessa was singing on her way home when she passed by Christian’s narrowboat on the Regent’s Canal and caught his attention – so much so that he hopped off the boat immediately and persuaded her to record a song then and there.
Their 2018 EP began drawing attention to their lush, genre-less style, followed closely by their 2020 full-length, and now the pair have shared their latest single “4AM”.
A serene and calming effort, “4AM” mashes together ’90s electronica with touches of soul, R&B, and lo-fi indie rock for a nostalgic and dreamy experience.
