R&B Artist Keys & The Never Before Shares B-Horror Music Video For “Prefontaine”

Former lead singer of Philadelphia hip-hop group Hardwork Movement Jeremy Keys has launched his new project Keys & The Never Before. Rerouting into the world of alternative R&B, Keys released his debut solo EP Displaced Vol.1 back in September, and has shared the music video for single “Prefontaine”.

Inspired by classic ’80s horror, especially the B-list collections, the music video features Keys running away from a killer with a shovel with splashes of humour trickled in. Named after the American long distance runner Steve Prefontaine, Keys certainly gets a workout in as he escapes across Philadelphia. Comparable to artists Frank Ocean, The Internet, and Khalid, the track incorporates electronic influences and glossy vocals with pulsating synthesizers and gospel-tinged hooks. About the song, Jeremy shares, “The song itself is a song about running away from the things we’re afraid to face. It details the lengths we’ll go to avoid facing our fears and how eventually they’ll catch up with us”.
