New York-based singer-songwriter Corey Quinn had to make the tough decision to return to his childhood home in Florida during the height of COVID. On his new single “Florida”, Quinn delves into that time of his life. “At the climax of COVID, I had to leave New York and move back to my childhood home and for the first time, I was confronted with the thought that things were not getting better, a stark contrast to my previous life”, he explains. “Every day I ran several miles to come to terms with this change. Like my repetitive daily run, I was back to the beginning, back in Florida. But one day, on the same route as always, this song came to me and I finally felt like myself again. Almost spiritual, a kind of reawakening“.
His delicate vocals and steady acoustic guitar drawn listeners in almost effortlessly, as he sings about the changes in his life with a patient, steady tone.
