Dublin Rockers Sprints Share New Feisty New Single “Little Fix” From Upcoming EP ‘A Modern Job’
Ahead of their upcoming EP A Modern Job, out March 11th via Nice Swan Records, Dublin-based punk rockers Sprints have shared their new single “Little Fix”. Elements of post-punk, alt-rock, and crowded pop music make its way onto the track, as the band play on their insecurities with a no-nonsense punk attitude.
About the new single, singer Karla Chubb says: “Plagued by insecurities, imposter syndrome and gender stereotypes, ‘Little Fix’ is the culmination of all my fears – the, sometimes, self applied pressure that as a woman in music I can’t just be good, I have to be great. I feel like I am in a constant state of proving myself. That no matter what I achieve, learn, write, play or sing, there will always be a critic, a voice in the crowd or in my head telling me that it’s still not good enough, that there’s a million men out there who are better and I’ll always just be “good for a girl”.
Leaning into the aggression and chaos that comes with fighting back, “Little Fix” finds connecting pieces to the music of Thee Oh Sees, Courtney Barnett, and IDLES. “Little Fix is a song that instead of running away from that fear, shit talk and criticism, it runs head first at 100 miles an hour into it”, Karla continues.
More confident in their opinions and identities than ever, forthcoming EP Modern Job aims its sights at political and societal commentary, and that expression and using your voice is fundamentally crucial.
