Emerging Indie Rock Act Interesting Hobbies Club Share Hangover Anthem “Wednesday”
With an unmistakable similarity to The Districts, Secondhand Sound, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Interesting Hobbies Club turn nostalgic undertones into anthemic basement rock anthems, and the band’s latest single “Wednesday” is no exception. Off their forthcoming sophomore album Spring Cleaning, due March 4th, the Los Angeles-based group explore the topic of addiction and mental health through a more personal lens.
“At surface level, Wednesday is simply a song about getting drunk on a Wednesday”, the band shares. “However, the song has deeper connotations of addiction and the toll it takes on loved ones. Wednesday was written hungover on a Thursday morning, after an intense night of partying. Featuring a memorable chorus and a classic pop-punk breakdown, Wednesday is a testament to poor weeknight decisions and iconic rock staples.”
Lead by a crunchy guitar and a dreamy, ’90s-inspired melody, “Wednesday” plays into the band’s gentler side, before parading into a frantic and roaring chorus.
