Icelandic Singer-Songwriter Arny Margret Announces Debut EP; Shares New Single “akureyri”

After releasing her debut single “intertwined” last year, Icelandic singer-songwriter Arny Margret has announced her debut EP of the same name, due on February 25th via One Little Independent Records. In tandem with the news, the emerging artist has shared her follow-up single “akureyri” alongside a Guðm Kristinn Jónsson-directed video. Named after the city at the base of Eyjafjörður Fjord in northern Iceland, the song is about how you judge yourself unfairly through the eyes of those that would put you down.

Having quickly established herself as a tour de force, her angelic and vibrant vocals are at the helm of her music. With a delicate and patient quality, she provides a heartfelt reassurance of self-confidence against a steady guitar strum. The minimalist quality “akureyri” is mirrored in the accompanying visual, as she walks through her snowy small town.
