Montreal Indie Singer-Songwriter Sara-Danielle Shares New Single “Away From You” Alongside Details Of Upcoming EP ‘Another Self’
Montreal artist Sara-Danielle shared details about the release of her upcoming sophomore EP, Another Self earlier this week, releasing new single and video “Away From You” in tandem with the news. Showcasing her crooning vocals against a building percussion beat and rhythmic bass, “Away From You” captures elements of synth-pop, soul and R&B – a mix Sara-Danielle describes as “ginger soul.”
A song about broken relationships, and how to redeem them – if that’s at all possible- the single and it’s accompanying music video describe the push and pull nature of a partnership. “It’s about wanting to do what’s best for the ones you love, but being pushed aside, because it was hurting them in the end,” explains Sara-Danielle. “Questioning whether you should leave them alone, and hope they’ll come back, or keep hanging on so they know you’re still there when they need you. It’s about love, honesty, mistakes, and forgiveness.”
Between the precise and emotional nature of her compositions, she glides comfortably along the thoughts that come to her mind, bringing them to life in her music, resulting in highly relatable tracks that pull at the heart. Evoking artists such as Charlotte Day Wilson and Leif Vollebekk, Sara-Danielle’s strength is shown in her captivating ability to embrace and soothe.
You can watch the video for “Away From You” below, and look out for the release of Another Self on April 1st.
