Introducing: Songwriter/Producer-Turned Solo Artist PLANT Shares Debut Single “Aftershock”
Since moving to London from Portland, emerging solo artist PLANT has been writing alongside Grammy nominated producers, including Taneisha Jackson (Doja Cat / John Legend / Eve), Lewis Gardiner (Robin Schulz / Kiiara / Pharrell Williams / Megan Thee Stallion) and Steve Booker (Jessie J / Galantis / Stevie Nicks) to name a few. Having carved a name for herself, PLANT is ready to embark on a solo journey with her new single “Aftershock”.
Firmly planted in the world of electro-pop, “Aftershock” is a synth-driven tune about the simmering feelings following an argument with a loved one. “I wrote ‘Aftershock’ after a minor fight I had with my partner that I just couldn’t get over”, PLANT shares. “It made me think, when we have these fights, where do our words go after they are voiced? Who’s responsible for their reverberations –the speaker or the listener? I don’t know if I found an answer, but writing about it gave my hurt feelings the voice they needed to be heard”.
