Indie R&B Duo Shamis & Rebiere Break Down The Difficulty Of Co-Parenting On New Single “Backpack”
Harlem-based multi-instrumentalist Rebiere and producer/songwriter Shamis have come together for the family-first single “Backpack”. Written about the difficulties of co-parents a child from a broken home, the indie R&B hit combines patient hip-hop beats with slick vocals to give the perspective of a father who sees their child once a week.
Elaborating on the single, they add, “‘Backpack’ tells a personal story about co-parenting and how fragile it can feel to see your kid with his backpack come and go every week. The backpack becomes a metaphor for how everybody has problems to deal with in life and how it will build character and make you stronger the longer you carry it”.
