Metalcore Duo Shallowsky Share Haunting New Video For “MUSCLESAREUSLESSAGAINSTGHOSTS”

Now onto their first release of 2022, metalcore duo Shallowsky – comprised of Brian Stephens (vocals/guitar) and Lamberto Sanchez (guitar) – have shared the haunting new visual for “MUSCLESAREUSELESSAGAINSTGHOSTS”.

Incorporating elements of electronicore and post-hardcore, the group touch on the genre’s early days with influence from Attack Attack! and Asking Alexandria, bringing along Erick Jensen (Escape The Fate, The Dead Rabbits) for bass and their producer Nick Matzkows (Attack Attack!, Until I Wake) on drums.

With the band’s aggressive style providing the soundtrack, the accompanying music video is a nod to the horror film genre, with ghosts and supernatural activity at its foundation.

“‘MUSCLESAREUSELESSAGAINSTGHOSTS’ is really just a fun story about someone who meets a girl and is infatuated,” the band shares of the visual. “She convinces him to follow her to a house where supernatural things start happening, and he can’t find a way to escape. As these events occur, he finally sees a way out, but ultimately decides, despite everything, [that] he wants to stay with her anyway. We tried to make the video a representation of exactly what the song is about and had a lot of fun planning and filming it!“
