Los Angeles Punk Act Death Lens Stick To Their Guns On New Single “Defy” From Recent LP ‘No Luck’
For Los Angeles punks Death Lens, their latest album No Luck took on a new direction following the protests of 2020 and the chaotic injustices happening in their home country. In true punk fashion, they wrote a handful of searing tracks to add to the conversation, and for their new single “Defy”, getting the point across in just under two minutes.
Setting the tone for the album, “Defy” is an in-your-face depiction of the protests and abuses of power, finding its nucleus with the lyric “Who you protecting when you made the bloodbath”.
About the song the band share:
“Defy” is a passage from our own written scriptures. It’s a wake up call to those who turn a blind eye to the things that are happening here in America. It’s a force of anger from minorities, like ourselves, and those fed up with our authority and public figures. We can no longer tolerate this government thinking for us. It’s time we showed them the power of the people and the strength of unity against their tyranny, legislative choices and law enforcement jackals. They will always do as they’re told instead of protecting the ones that need protecting: Us. Defiance is the only way they’ll understand“.
