Alt-Pop Artist Samantha Margret Lets It Out On New Single “RAGE”
Indie singer-songwriter Samantha Margret has shared her new single “RAGE”. Deserving of all caps, the alt-pop song is an elegantly angry protest song that found its release coinciding with the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
“I could never have predicted the strange alignment of the release with a national crisis. It’s definitely a moment for rage”, Samantha says.
While its conception was before the news, the song’s message still comes through clearly, as Samantha opts for a more artistic and focused display of anger. Her cool vocals and dripping electronic influences lean into the sound of Florence + the Machine and BANKS, as she lets her lyrics do the heavy lifting.
“I wrote this song for every woman who’s been made to feel too stupid or too smart, too weak or too strong, too big or too small, too much or not enough”, she shares. “I wrote it to give us space for our anger and to remind us of our power”.
