UK Lo-Fi Trio kid apollo Share Homegrown Music Video For Sentimental Single “All On Me”
If kid apollo lead singer Jimmy HM hoped to capture youthful angst and the feeling of “overthinking all the time” on the Brixton trio’s latest single “all on me”, he surely accomplished his goal.
Dubbed “a sweeping, lo-fi, inner city R&B treat” by Dork Magazine, the 3-piece group rounded out by producers Felix and Theo Ratigan meld a passionate yet subdued emotional tone through each second that rolls along throughout “all on me”. Sparse yet splashy drums fill the atmosphere while the buzzing synth bass scratches the low end itch sweetly. Jimmy HM’s sung vocals sound aptly close to the microphone, capturing the touching warmth and rasp of the performance.
Speaking on the release of the new track, singer Jimmy said: “‘all on me’ is just me talking about how the small things can affect and influence one another when you’re talking to someone. Quickly, these small things start to seem much bigger than they should be, but that’s neither person’s fault. The song for us just felt like a good way of expressing this without it feeling too serious, which things way too often do.”
Before years end, you can expect a new EP from London’s own. Titled u the real star here, the collection will be out November 19. To prepare for the arrival of this project, I implore you give “all on me” a listen (you’ll probably just let it repeat for a while honestly):
