Indie Pop Artist VÉRITÉ Shares Heartbreaking New Single “Love You Forever”
Following last month’s single release “are we done yet?,” independent artist VÉRITÉ has shared “love you forever.” Partnering with Venice Music – innovative music and tech company that offer tools, services and support on par with those of major labels while empowering artists to maintain ownership and creative autonomy of their work – the single is part of the new era of music for the singer-songwriter.
A beautifully stripped track, the focus remains on VÉRITÉ’s clean vocals, a steady mix of percussion beats and strummed guitar guiding the track, joined by strings in the latter half to emphasize the build of emotion captured in the lyrics. Signing about heartbreak, the crash of a relationship meant to last forever, the crescendo as the song nears its close mirrors the feeling of the impending end of the relationship.
Speaking to the track, VÉRITÉ shares: “It’s rare I write from my experience this literally, but I was heartbroken and angry and felt torn between knowing the end of something is the correct thing and not wanting to let it go…”
The music video captures the feeling of being alone in a partnership effortlessly, as the two figures dance in their living room, close together, though one’s face is concealed and clearly already removed.
About the song’s origins, VÉRITÉ says that the track “was written on my couch fervently typing lyrics into my notes app and trying to fit words into sensible melodic phrases while crying. I didn’t record a voice memo or sit down at a piano, I just walked around for a few weeks sitting in the feeling, singing and arranging it in my brain until I brought the idea into the studio and spent the day bending the tempo of the song to push and pull to mimic the tension I felt in my own body. I love capturing something raw and not overproducing it, not hiding under sheen, but exposing the intricate inner workings to truly capture a feeling.”
Stay tuned for more from VÉRITÉ as the new musical era unfolds for the artist.
