Indie Folk Outfit Ten Kills The Pack Drops New Single “God, Love, Prescriptions, and Politics”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Sean Sroka released his new 8-track EP Thank You For Trying: ACT 1 back in September under his moniker Ten Kills The Pack. The first of a two-part album, Sroka blends emotional lyricism with stunning, patient folk rock instrumentation to soundtrack his perspective on mental health, philosophy, and life as a musician. Continuing the theme of striking, poignant songwriting, Ten Kills the Pack have shared the first track of the next chapter, with “God, Love, Prescriptions, and Politics”.
Aptly named, the single discusses social and political commentary through succinct poetic lyricism. Sroka elaborates on the song saying, “As artists, we’re always finding the blend of the internal and external. This song swings towards the external while internally trying to find understanding. It’s about our collective state. Perspectives on how someone can become something they weren’t, their excuses, how they’re destructively and unknowingly influenced, how righteous they are but how wrong, how their belief in hate is more important than their needs, and how manipulated one can be for someone else’s direct gain…really, nothing new I suppose.”
