Derby Bedroom Artist Sfven Shares Latest Addition “Bones”
Derby-based bedroom pop artist Sfven has gradually been releasing singles over the last few months, building towards a new collection set to be completed by August 2023. Now onto his fifth single “Bones”, Sfven continues to showcase his lush, glitchy, and emotive pop style. Drawing from the worlds of James Blake, Justin Vernon, and half-alive, there’s a warm and futuristic feel to the song as he sings about the impact of the important people in our lives.
“I wrote ‘bones’ with the beautiful human that is Hugo. ‘bones’ is probably my favourite song on the record, it just really feels exciting and like nothing I’ve done before – definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone a bit which is great. As someone who struggles to let people in when writing songs, it felt amazing to sit with Hugo and make something that feels very honest. It’s about the feeling of finally landing somewhere, whether that’s in terms of connections with the people around you, mentally or just in yourself. It’s a very important song for me and feel lucky to have Hugo in my life.”
In its accompanying music video, two friends enjoy the day together, giving the song an indie film feel.
