Kris Ulrich Accompanies New Album ‘Big in the USA’ With Live Cut Of “Lucky”

Winnipeg-raised singer-songwriter Kris Ulrich released his new album Big in the USA at the end of March via Birthday Cake Records. The glowing, nostalgia-filled release was lead by a handful of captivating singles, including the title track, “Friends on the Internet”, and “1994”, and now the musician has shared a live cut of the new focus single “Lucky”.

Filmed in Winnipeg at the No Fun Club, “Lucky” captures the homegrown feel of Kris’ sound, while embracing the feel-good energy of a raw performance.

“This song came out really fast. I sat down one evening and wrote and recorded a demo for it within a few hours. I was inspired by a movie my girlfriend and I had recently watched and the scenes from that movie were kind of playing on a reel in my head. I think it’s pretty apparent what movie it was but I like to leave it up to the audience to make their own conclusions”.

He concludes, “I’m really proud of this one because I feel like I wrote about love in a way I never had before”.
