Singer-Songwriter Maty Noyes Reflects On Falling For The Wrong One On Latest Single “Lighter Thief”
Mississippi-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Maty Noyes is gearing up to release her forthcoming album Rainbow Syndrome. Leading the way is the expressive and heartbreaking new single “Lighter Thief” and its accompanying music video.
“This song is about loving the anti-hero. He’s the bad boy in the movie that gives you just enough hope that he could turn good that you want him to win (over the classic good guy)”, Maty shares. “It feels like home – sometimes you run away but you always come back to it. It’s that feeling when the future is so uncertain and nothing is safe or guaranteed but you accept it because it makes you feel alive. You do what you can to bring light and happiness, but that’s not always the way love goes”.
With her gripping vocal timbre at the helm, the melancholic release balances subtle Nashville-pop twang with her meaningful performance, finding an alluring intensity in its calmness and reflection. Combining handheld footage with cinematic shots, the accompanying visual plays out like a fleeting memory.
