Ukrainian Alt Rock Act Akine Deliver Explosive New Single “Colours”

Ukrainian-British alt-rock act Akine have shared their new single “Colours”. Lead by teenage frontwoman Nicole, the group dive into the topic of wasting potential and loss of innocence, delivered in a box of grit and grunge and tied with a bow.

“I wrote the song partly as a reminder of what could happen if I don’t work for what I want” explains Akine about the song. “It’s about a hypothetical person who wastes away their potential. This causes her to spiral into a wasted life of addiction and self- harm, becoming the worst version of herself, taunted by thoughts of what she could have achieved.”

Nicole’s strong and determined delivery gives the garage-rock tune a commanding edge, backed by an uncomplicated and visceral ’90s-inspired instrumentation.
