(If you like: King Crimson, Arcade Fire, Radiohead)

Progressive psychedelic rock group Bike Thief originally formed five years ago in Austin, Texas, and have since relocated to Portland, Oregon to record to their upcoming album Impaler.  Produced by Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Riley Geare, the first single off the record is the art-rock song “Dark Dances”.

Heavily influenced by progressive rock legends King Crimson, and the artistic capacity of Arcade Fire and Radiohead, Bike Thief combine layered guitar tracks, crafted string arrangements, and a driving bass and percussion component for an unpredictable progression. Moving upwards and downwards freely, “Dark Dances” plays with sound and dynamics, and is an engaging first look into the forthcoming work.
